Technology / Goals
React Native was used for the front-end development, ensuring a smooth, cross-platform mobile experience.
Redux was implemented for global state management, allowing centralized control of application data and improving overall stability.
SQL Server with Stored Procedures powered the back end, providing a secure and efficient database solution.
The primary goal of this project was to deliver a fully automated mobile application for the construction industry, enabling users to manage concrete mixing processes with ease and accuracy.
Project Overview
The project involved revamping and improving the CarMix application, designed to automate the process of loading, mixing, and unloading concrete mixtures. With the app, users can create customized concrete “recipes,” define proportions of ingredients, and schedule loading and delivery. The app also integrates GPS functionality, allowing users to lock in coordinates and ensure timely unloading at the correct site.
CarMix was envisioned to reduce manual effort, improve accuracy, and bring automation to an industry that often struggles with inefficiencies and errors in the mixing process.
Challenges
The earlier version of the app was plagued with connection issues, frequent crashes, and a generally outdated UI.
The biggest challenge was performing an in-depth code analysis to identify underlying causes and implement fixes that would improve performance.
The client required a modernized user interface that was intuitive while maintaining complex functionality.
The system also needed to handle customizable recipes and automated scheduling, without compromising on reliability.
Solution
Our approach began with a comprehensive review of the existing codebase, identifying and resolving critical issues that caused crashes and connectivity failures.
We then redesigned the user interface in React Native, making it sleek, modern, and user-friendly. To ensure stability and real-time synchronization, Redux was implemented for state management.
The CarMix app now enables users to:
Create and save multiple concrete recipes with exact proportions.
Schedule loading times and set delivery destinations using GPS coordinates.
Automate the entire cycle of loading, mixing, and unloading with just a few taps.
By combining automation with a modern, mobile-first design, we delivered an app that exceeded client expectations — bringing efficiency, reliability, and convenience to the construction industry.
